The Villa Unity Story

Not a hotel. Not a rental.
Something rarer.

There are places you visit, and places that change the way you measure every trip that follows. Villa Unity was built — over five years, with no compromises — to be the second kind. A family designed every material, every level, and every view of this estate as their own home, then opened it, one group at a time, to people who already know that the finest experiences are never found in a hotel lobby.

The result is a private sanctuary in the Bophut hills where a wellness floor, an infinity pool over the canopy, and a community of rescued elephants a short walk away are not amenities on a list. They are simply the setting you wake up in.

This is not the kind of place you find on a booking platform. It is the kind of place you return to, years from now, and realise shaped something in you.

Why Villa Unity

What you get here that you won’t find
anywhere else.

Villa Unity
Luxury hotels & other villas
Entire estate, exclusively yours.

Five suites, wellness floor, pool, gardens — no shared spaces, no other guests, no hotel lobby. Your family, your rules.

Shared pools, spa booking queues, restaurant seating times, noise from other guests. Privacy is a premium add-on, not the default.
Elephants a short walk away.

The Samui Elephant Haven sits a 150-metre walk from the gate, with a café where you can watch the herd over coffee. Stroll over before breakfast — no day trip, no transfers.

Elephant experiences require day trips, transport, and tourist crowds. You leave the experience behind when you return to your hotel.
Full wellness floor.

Infrared sauna, steam room, ice bath, hot plunge, salon — plus fitness studio, gym, and yoga. All private, all 24 hours, no bookings.

Hotel spas charge per session, require advance booking, and run on fixed schedules. In-villa wellness is usually a plunge pool at most.
Owner-managed, not corporate.

You deal directly with the family who built it. Requests are handled personally, not through a call centre. We live on the island full-time.

Resort staff rotate. Villa management companies handle dozens of properties. Your booking is a line item, not a relationship.
Solar-powered resilience.

A full solar array with battery backup keeps Villa Unity running through Samui’s occasional outages — air-con, WiFi and lighting uninterrupted.

Island power cuts affect most properties. Hotels run diesel generators (noisy, polluting). Most villas have no backup at all.

First Impressions

What people say when they
visit the site.

We visited during construction and the scale took us by surprise. Every surface considered — the stone, the timber, the joinery. You can see this isn’t a spec build. Someone has put their life into this.

James & Laura M.Site visit · Surrey, United Kingdom

The moment we saw the location we understood. An elephant sanctuary 150 metres away, Fisherman’s Village a short drive, the hillside position — elevated, private, accessible. We hadn’t seen anything quite like this combination on the island. We’ve already booked.

David & Priya T.Site visit · Singapore

Richard walked us through the build and the attention to detail is extraordinary. The way each level has been designed with a different purpose — it’s clear this has been years in the making. We can’t wait to see it finished.

These are impressions from guests who visited during construction. Villa Unity opens to its first staying guests in December 2026.
